We are looking for a Pulmonary Function Technician at our NCR Pulmonology practice in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Pulmonary Function Technicians are entry-level staff performing routine pulmonary function testing under close supervision. Staff members in this position are self-motivated to make consistent progress toward meeting laboratory requirements for certification to perform independent routine testing. Staff in this position will also begin to participate in laboratory quality assurance and equipment maintenance programs, and to assist with administrative tasks.

Location: 5530 Wisconsin Ave., Chevy Chase, Maryland 20815

Status: Non-Exempt - Full-time - 40 hours per week

What you'll need to be successful:

  • High School diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree in respiratory therapy or Bachelor’s degree in health science or biology preferred.
  • Medical Assistant Certification (from JHHS accepted list) CPR (BLS) certification required. Staff in this position will be required to sit for the N.B.R.C. certification exam for Pulmonary Function Technologist when the admission requirements have been met following one year of employment. Must maintain certification throughout employment.

  • One year (12 months) experience in a clinical position as a Certified Medical Assistant required. Work experience in a pulmonary function laboratory is preferred.

Salary Range: Minimum $18.97/hour - Maximum $​​​​31.33/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
