Job Title: Inventory Analyst Intern

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Position Status: Exempt

 

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Inventory Analyst Intern is responsible for supporting inventory control, inventory accuracy, reporting functions, and material management processes within the manufacturing environment. This position assists with inventory analysis, cycle counting, ERP transactions, data maintenance, and process improvement initiatives to support operational efficiency and inventory integrity.


The role works closely with Purchasing, Production, Shipping, Warehouse, and Quality departments to ensure accurate inventory records, timely material availability, and compliance with company inventory procedures and internal controls. The Inventory Analyst Intern will also assist in generating reports, investigating inventory discrepancies, and supporting continuous improvement activities related to inventory management and warehouse operations..


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with inventory analysis and reporting using the Epicor ERP System
  • Support daily inventory transactions including receipts, transfers, adjustments, and material issues
  • Analyze inventory discrepancies and assist in root cause investigations
  • Perform cycle counts and support physical inventory audits
  • Generate and maintain inventory accuracy reports, KPI tracking, and variance reporting
  • Assist with maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs), part numbers, and inventory records in Epicor
  • Support production and warehouse teams by monitoring material availability and inventory movement
  • Review inventory trends and provide recommendations for process improvements
  • Assist with inventory forecasting and material planning activities
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Production, Shipping, and Quality departments to improve inventory flow and operational efficiency
  • Support warehouse organization, labeling, and inventory location management
  • Ensure compliance with company inventory procedures and internal controls
  • Prepare reports and presentations for leadership regarding inventory performance metrics
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory control and warehouse operations

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to analyze inventory data, identify discrepancies, and support problem-solving within a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
  • Ability to interpret and follow written, verbal, and spreadsheet-based instructions while managing multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical and analytical skills, including percentages, ratios, averages, and trend analysis, to support inventory control and operational decisions.


LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in Business English are required. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required. 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
