Compensation:
At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $49040 - $61300. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C’s annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.
Key Responsibilities:Â
- Execute standard functional tests on electrical products and systems following established procedures.Â
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics to perform accurate tests and some troubleshooting.Â
- Provide guidance and training to Assistant Test Technicians and other junior team members.Â
- Maintain and calibrate testing equipment, ensuring it is in proper working condition.Â
- Assist in developing and improving testing procedures and protocols based on findings and feedback.Â
- Identify and diagnose issues during testing and take corrective actions or escalate them as needed.Â
- Utilize basic hand tools and measuring devices such as tape measures and multimeters under supervision.Â
- Maintain accurate records of tasks performed, deviations, and any quality concerns. Â
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols while handling tools, equipment, and materials. Report any safety hazards promptly.Â
- Perform assembly tasks as assigned by supervisors to support production needs. This includes all requested assembly tasks, even those that are not typically performed by this role on a day-to-day basis.Â
- Meet department targets and consistently adhere to quality and safety standards, including the use of lifting devices and other ergonomic or safety devices when required. Â
- Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules. Â

What you’ll Need to Succeed:
- Â High School Diploma, associate's degree in a trade or related mechanical/electrical field is preferred.
Skills/Knowledge, and Experience Required:
- 1-3+ years of experience in an electrical or mechanical-related role.Â
- Sound understanding of electrical and mechanical systems. Able to complete troubleshooting tasks to identify issues within these systems.Â
- Ability to understand blueprints and electrical schematics.Â
- Ability to train and mentor less-experienced team members.Â
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment on a product floor and open to learning new concepts of electrical/product testing.Â
- Proficient in performing precise and delicate tasks using hands and fingers. Able to manipulate small objects, operate tools, and handle intricate equipment effectively.Â
- Sound attention to detail, with the ability to follow detailed instructions and identify correct vs. incorrect product functions. Â
- Rounded communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to articulate information efficiently and effectively to team members in a variety of production support departments. Â
- Good computer skills with the ability to review and respond to requests and use Microsoft applications. Â
- Basic shop math skills with the ability to calculate measurements.Â
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to understand and complete requests given by team members inside and outside of the department. Â
- Ability and willingness to follow Health, Safety & Environment procedures accurately, reporting concerns promptly to the safety action team. Â
- Willing to support production teams with non-typical tasks, including assembly work.Â
Preferred:
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment or electrical testing role. Â
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement of manufacturing principles
Major Physical Demands:Â
- Standing: All tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.
- Lifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs.
- Walking: Occasional walking moderate distances (less than 1/8 mile).
- Carrying: Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 25 lbs.
- Pushing: Occasional pushing of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs.
- Pulling: Occasional pulling of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs.
- Bending: Frequent bending and crouching to safely lift parts of various sizes and shapes.
- Reaching: Continuous full range of motion from above the shoulders to below the knees.
- Handling: Continuous handling of parts ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs.
- Other: Respirator certification required.
