We’re seeking a Civil Engineer with 7+ years of site civil engineering experience, who is passionate about solving complex engineering problems and creating high-quality designs, reports, and studies that meet the needs of our clients. A PE license and experience in the utility or transportation industry are preferred.Â
Salary: $90k - $115k per yearÂ
Job Responsibilities:Â
- Contribute to a project team consisting of professional engineers and designers involved in the design, modification, and analysis of all facets of civil engineeringÂ
- Work on challenging assignments that include investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of civil engineering-related issuesÂ
- Create civil designs from preliminary to as-built stagesÂ
- Produce civil engineering plans, surveys, data and information, construction documents, and related reports in a clear and concise manner to meet client specificationsÂ
- Act as a team lead in coordinating detailed design phases for all aspects of civil engineering workÂ
- Prepare, review, and/or approve proposals, contracts, or cost estimatesÂ
- Negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with sub-consultants and clientsÂ
- Perform and/or oversee designs for underground and overhead powers installationsÂ
- Lead efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budgetÂ
- Coordinate design activities to ensure installation and operations will comply with specifications, codes, and client requirementsÂ
- Interact with vendors to prepare materials and equipment purchase specifications for client recommendationsÂ
- Research available equipment and proven pre-engineered systems for the execution of required project designsÂ
- Design stage tickets and information retrieval of utility atlas maps and coordination with survey field staff?Â
- Perform independent reviews of work performed by others including calculations and drawing preparationÂ
- Direct the work of drafting and designer support staff to complete projectsÂ
- Work directly with clients, KDM staff, and consultantsÂ
- Conduct site walkdowns and work directly with construction contractorsÂ
Qualifications & Requirements:Â
- BS in Civil Engineering or other accredited Engineering degree Â
- Structural Engineer (SE) license- preferredÂ
- EIT or PE license with ability for reciprocity in other states preferredÂ
- 7+ years of experienceÂ
- Experience or knowledge of:Â
- SurveyingÂ
- Construction and design feasibilityÂ
- Utilities infrastructureÂ
- Land development, transportation, and water/drainageÂ
- Power distributionÂ
- Experience and proficiency in AutoCad Civil3DÂ
- Understanding of and experience in applying regulatory agency laws, ordinances and regulations for municipality, county, state, and federal agencies permitting submittalsÂ
- Excellent written and verbal communication skillsÂ
- Ability to work independently and within a team to efficiently complete tasks and assignments?Â
- Time management and organization skills to manage multiple projects and tasks with ability to meet deadlines and within budgetÂ
