Job Description Summary:

Specializes in full stack development and implementing end-to-end components of custom applications. Involves designing and developing the UI, business logic, data & integration layer along with testing and maintenance of these layers. Creating, querying & manipulating databases, APIs and integration, Front-end code (HTML/CSS, bootstrap, React JS) and web stack back-end technologies (Python, Java, SQL etc.).

Performs operations, technical or administration work often in support of professional roles. Requires technical or other specific training or equivalent experience. Performs tasks and duties according to established procedures. Analyses information to solve on-going problems and implements procedures and approaches to complete work. Responsible for results of the team. May provide direction to team using extensive knowledge of established precedents and practices

Job Description:

Major Duties:

  • Resolves problems, identifies the most appropriate solution and may establish new techniques to ensure the team is able to meet its objectives
  • Has direct impact, on the quality of the tasks performed or services provided by the team
  • Ensure code quality through architecture reviews, testing, and adherence to development standards. 
  • Champion Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud engineering practices to improve delivery speed and reliability. 
  • Collaborate with product, business, and technology stakeholders to define solutions and strategic priorities. 
  • Monitor system health, resolve stability and scalability issues, and drive continuous improvement. 


Knowledge :

  • Requires a comprehensive understanding of a range of processes, procedures, systems and concepts within own job discipline
  • Uses insights into how the team integrates with other teams to coordinate efforts and resources to achieve shared and individual objectives
  • Requires tact and diplomacy to exchange ideas and information in a concise and logical way
  • 4 Year college degree is required with mathematical background
  • Exposure to financial calculation would be preferred


Experience :

  • May provide informal day-to-day supervision to a team including coaching on performance, coordinating activities, checking on quality and work progress
  • Experience with SQL Server, Azure and Github.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines/DevOps practices.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, and Azure DevOps. 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. 
  • Experience with full-stack Java/JEE development and Python.
  • Strong expertise in Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices, and web application development. 

Salary Range:

$73,500 - 117,700 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
