Description

Our Network Operations team works around the clock running United’s global operation, safely, reliably and efficiently. From dispatching and routing our fleet to coordinating with maintenance line planning and crew scheduling, this team makes caring connections with our internal customers and ultimately, United’s customers. From pushback to landing, the Network Operations team is the eyes and ears on the ground no matter where in the world your United flight takes you.


Job Overview and Responsibilities

The Operations Products & Strategy team is responsible for shaping the future of station, network, and irregular operations (IRROPS) by designing scalable, data-driven solutions that enable more proactive, efficient, and informed decision-making. The team focuses on standardizing and automating information flows, building decision-support capabilities, and optimizing operational workflows to reduce complexity and manual effort across the operation. The team is working hand in hand to address emerging business needs and activate the future state of the IRROPS recovery function through processes, roles, and technology.

The team partners with operational stakeholders to identify systemic opportunities, define high-impact problems, and develop integrated solutions that drive sustained enterprise-wide efficiency, scalability, and improved IRROPS recovery outcomes. This includes translating business needs into structured logic, frameworks, and tooling that elevate decision quality and enable operations to manage by exception.

The Analyst – Future Network & Station Operation position plays a critical role in advancing strategic transformation initiatives across operational teams, specifically IRROPS recovery workflows. This role focuses on improving decision-making, workflow structure, and end-to-end process design to maximize efficiency and scalability. This position emphasizes proactive problem solving, process optimization, and value creation, shifting away from reactive, day-to-day issue resolution and toward enabling long-term operational improvements.

  • Support the development of decision-support tools, frameworks, and analyses that help operational stakeholders make more consistent and data-informed decisions
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for improvement, and translate findings into clear recommendations
  • Assist in translating business needs into structured processes, workflows, and supporting documentation
  • Build and maintain process maps, decision trees, and standard work documentation to support operational consistency and standardization
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support process improvement initiatives, including identifying opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency
  • Collaborate with product, technology, and analytics teams to support development of tools, reporting, and automation capabilities
  • Develop and contribute to presentations and materials that communicate insights, project updates, and recommendations to stakeholders

NOTE: This position is located at the CSC-Willis Tower in Chicago, IL and considered as a hybrid role working 3 days in office, however that may evolve with the needs of the company. You may be required to go to the AHSC (Arlington Heights Service Center) in Arlington Heights, IL at times.

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

 

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis on airline management, aviation, or industrial engineering or relative work experience
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in management or operations
  • Airline, process engineering, quantitative and qualitative analysis experience
  • Strong knowledge of airport and network operations
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Ability to work with cross functional groups- strong relationship building skills
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and presentation skills
  • Highly organized, and the ability to multi-task competing priorities
  • Must be willing and able to work a hybrid schedule in office 3 days
  • Must be willing and able to work at the CSC-Willis Tower in Chicago, IL as well as the AHSC in Arlington Heights, IL
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

 

 

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

 

  • 5 years of experience in management or operations
  • Airline, process engineering, quantitative and qualitative analysis experience
  • Experience with process/system mapping and analysis
  • Project management experience
  • Experience using at least one database management system
  • Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities


     


The base pay range for this role is $66,500.00 to $86,616.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
