Hours:

  • 6:00 am – 2:30 pm (Monday–Friday) 
  • Overtime may be required based on business needs

Compensation:

At S&C, we provide competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, with a commitment to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated hourly base pay rate for this position is $20.25. This role is also eligible for S&C’s annual short-term incentive bonus, subject to eligibility criteria.

Join Our Team as an Assembler!

As a Pad-Mount Gear Assembler, you’ll play a key role in building high-quality electrical enclosures that support the reliability of the power grid. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble pad-mount gear enclosures ranging in size from 42” x 37” x 70” to 86” x 94” x 76”.
  • Identify, transport, install, mount, and bolt all types of components (ranging from 5 lbs. to 100 lbs., with assistance), including bus assemblies, high-voltage switches, mounting and support plates, lock assemblies, doors, and roofs.
  • Perform mechanical inspections using torque wrenches, screwdrivers, and tape measures.
  • Use material handling equipment, hand tools, power tools, air-impact tools, gauges, and overhead cranes.
  • Work in a fast-paced assembly environment following standardized work instructions and meeting specified Takt Time requirements.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required 

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Ability to follow standard work, including specific written instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to perform basic subassemblies.
  • Proficiency with air-impact tools and other hand-held tools.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn assembly processes.
  • Preferred: Previous experience in assembly or manufacturing.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in an assembly or manufacturing environment a plus.

Physical Demands:

  • Standing: Most tasks performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.
  • Lifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs.
  • Walking: Occasional walking moderate distances (less than 1/8 mile).
  • Carrying: Frequent carrying of items ranging from 5 lbs. to 25 lbs.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Occasional use of powered hand trucks to move parts moderate distances.
  • Bending: Frequent bending and crouching required to complete assembly tasks.
  • Reaching: Continuous full range of motion from above shoulders to below knees.
  • Handling: Continuous handling of parts ranging from 5 lbs. to 25 lbs.
