Job DetailsJob Location: theWit Hotel - Chicago, IL 60601Salary Range: $20.00 - $20.00 HourlyJob Title: Banquet Houseman Location: theWit Chicago Hotel – Chicago, IL Department: Banquets / Events Reports To: Banquet Manager Position Summary The Banquet Houseman is responsible for the setup, maintenance, and breakdown of banquet rooms and event spaces to ensure exceptional guest experiences. This role plays a key part in supporting the banquet team by ensuring all event areas are clean, organized, and arranged according to specifications. Key Responsibilities Set up banquet rooms and event spaces according to event orders, including tables, chairs, linens, staging, and décor Break down event setups efficiently and safely following completion of events Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet areas, storage rooms, and service corridors Assist banquet servers and managers during events as needed Transport equipment, furniture, and supplies between storage and event locations Ensure all setups meet hotel standards and guest expectations Respond promptly to last-minute changes or guest requests Follow all safety, sanitation, and company policies Report any maintenance or safety issues to management Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous experience in hospitality, banquets, or event setup is a plus Ability to lift, push, or carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs or more) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude Good communication skills Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Capability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods Work Environment Indoor banquet and event spaces Occasional outdoor event support Exposure to varying noise levels and busy event settings Compensation and Benefits $20.00 per hour We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the health, well-being, and financial security of our employees.
