POSITION SUMMARY:

The Ceded Reinsurance Account Manager is responsible for the reporting, billing, and collection of ceded reinsurance claims. The role requires a strong understanding of complex asbestos, environmental and / or other latent exposure claims, coverage and policy allocation issues, reinsurance program structures, and facultative and treaty contract language to ensure accurate reporting and timely recovery of reinsurance balances.

DUTIES:

Reviewing underlying claim matters and coverage files to determine if claims are reportable to reinsurers.
Providing reinsurers with initial notice.
Providing reinsurers with status updates.
Billing reinsurers.
Collecting from reinsurers.
Ensuring that reinsurer inquiries are addressed.
Performing special projects and assignments related to area of authority (for example: handling reinsurer audits and collateral requests).

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Strong analytical, interpersonal, and written communication skills required.
Capable of working independently and meeting assigned deadlines.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree required; degree in Finance and/or Accounting preferred; Law degree a plus.
CPCU or other industry designation, a plus.

EXPERIENCE:

Proficiency with MS Excel.
Prior reinsurance or claims experience, a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $85,000 - $110,000
