Job Overview
We are seeking a new Civil Engineer (Water Infrastructure Design) to join our team at Ardmore Roderick. As a Civil Engineer (Water Infrastructure Design), you will joina team of infrastructure solutions experts to solve our client’s ever-evolving project needs.  This opportunity will be located in our Chicago or Downers Grove, Illinois offices and could have potential to be hybrid depending on the specific client, project and team needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work on and deliver projects related to drinking water engineering services to a variety of clients in the Midwest and South regions
  • Deliver technical excellence in preliminary designs, final designs, asset management, program management, bid assistance and services during construction for water infrastructure
  • Commit to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve client’s toughest challenges
  • Lead preparation of engineering reports, provide support services during construction, and a variety of other related assignments
  • Mentor and help support the growth of staff through both professional and technical oversight and support
  • Reports to Water Services Market Sector Leader (MSL)
Required Qualifications
  • Four-year degree in civil, environmental, or related engineering field
  • Professional Engineering (PE) licensure
  • 6-12 years of experience in design and construction services of water linear infrastructure
  • In-depth knowledge of water industry best practices and standards
  • Experience in the preparation of contract documents, including drawings and specifications, for complex water projects
  • Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence
  • Strong technical and entrepreneurial competencies, as well as the ability to expand existing client relationships and to establish working relationships with new clients
  • Demonstrated project delivery/execution experience, including managing client expectations and satisfaction, technical teams, project financial management, resource management, change order management and client invoicing/payments
  • Ability to serve as the technical liaison between the project owner and a design team
  • Ability to work both independently and on large, coordinated teams
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Managing projects or tasks, including budget, schedule and resources
  • Active engagement in professional industry organizations, including committees
  • Have a team player mindset with the ability to communicate proficiently in written and verbal forms
Preferred Qualifications
  • M.S. degree in related engineering field
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or ability to obtain
  • Experience with design of water infrastructure (pump stations, distribution systems, feeder mains, etc)

Salary Range: $95,056-151,840, Ardmore Roderick is providing the compensation range that the company believes it might pay and/or offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
