About P&G Advisors
Our vision is to help 10,000 small business owners achieve valuations of $10M or more within the next 10 years. Our advisors and accountants all work together toward that aim. We work primarily with small and mid-sized retail, service, manufacturing, and distribution companies. We are committed to helping entrepreneurs create jobs and opportunities for the communities they serve.
About the Role
As a Senior Accountant & Client Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in delivering technical excellence on accounting and tax work for our book of small and mid-sized business clients, paired with the client-facing judgment to translate that work into real advisory value. This is not a relationship-management role with light technical exposure — it's a technical accounting/tax seat that also owns the client relationship. You will personally prepare and review returns and financials, catch what the rest of the team misses, and only then move into onboarding, retention, and advisory conversations built on that technical foundation.
What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like
- Personally prepare and/or review accounting and tax deliverables before they reach the client, catching errors early — this is hands-on technical work, not just oversight.
- Run the weekly cadence that keeps accounting/tax production on time and accurate.
- Coordinate with the Bookkeeper, Tax Preparer, and Tax Advisor to keep every account on schedule.
- Own client relationships across onboarding, steady-state service, and renewal/upsell conversations, once the technical foundation is solid.
- Build and refine the SOPs that let this operation run without leadership touching every account.
- Report retention, satisfaction, and workflow health directly to the CEO.
What You Need to Succeed
- Hands-on experience actually preparing tax returns — not only reviewing or quality-checking them — for corporations, partnerships, LLCs, or individuals.
- Real working experience inside an accounting system (QuickBooks or similar), not secondhand exposure through an adjacent role.
- 3+ years of experience in public accounting, tax, or advisory roles, with exposure to small and mid-sized businesses.
- CPA designation (preferred) or Enrolled Agent certification, or equivalent hands-on experience — credential matters less than being able to demonstrate you know your stuff and can work it out independently when you don't.
- Demonstrated experience personally managing client relationships — not just preparing returns or books in the back office.
- Comfortable serving as the technical backstop for a small team — reviewing work, catching errors, and coaching less-experienced team members.
- Strong organizational skills; capable of managing a book of 40–60+ accounts without anything falling through the cracks.
- Familiarity with Profit First by Mike Michalowicz, Built to Sell by John Warrilow, and Traction by Gino Wickman is a strong asset.
- Exceptional communication skills, grounded in a client-first mindset.
Our Values
- Work Hard, Stay Humble — We bring our best to every project and keep our feet on the ground while doing it.
- Smart & Resourceful — We know how to get things done, even when the path isn't obvious.
- Go the Extra Mile — Good enough is never good enough here; we believe in delivering above and beyond.
- Ownership & Accountability — If we're part of it, we own it, and that includes every success and setback.
- Keep it Fun & Lighthearted — Hard work is non-negotiable, but we know how to have a good time while we're at it.
Our Recruitment Process
Your application will be reviewed, and those moving to the next step will be asked to complete a brief 5-question one-way video interview where you will answer these questions on your own time via your webcam. Following that, successful candidates will be invited to take part in a series of 1-on-1 interviews.
