Responsibilities

Related Midwest, through its vertically integrated general contracting entity, LR Contracting, is seeking a Project Manager II to join its construction management team. The role will serve as the Owner’s Representative for the planning, design, and construction of developments within the Illinois Quantum Microelectronics Park at Quantum Shore. Working under the direction of the Project Executive and senior project leadership, this position supports oversight of multiple concurrent projects across the campus and requires experience coordinating architects, engineers, consultants, regulatory agencies, utilities, and general contractors through all phases of project delivery.

The Project Manager II will assist in representing ownership during the delivery of the Phase 1 building and future campus developments, helping ensure projects are completed in accordance with established scope, schedule, budget, quality and regulatory requirements.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a primary interface with owner, architects, engineers, consultants and contractors.
  • Support management of the design development process, including participation in design coordination meetings, and resolution of design issues impacting scope.
  • Assist with cost estimating reviews, schedule reviews, constructability evaluations, and value engineering during design and preconstruction.
  • Support oversight of contractor procurement, including bid package reviews, RFI’s, proposal evaluations, and selection recommendations.
  • Participate in contractor progress meetings and site visits to monitor schedule, quality and overall performance.
  • Assist in monitoring project budgets, cost commitments, and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review pay applications, change orders, and cost proposals providing recommendations to project leadership.
  • Maintain project documentation, including meeting minutes, reports, correspondence, and project records.
  • Assist in preparing executive-level reports and presentations for leadership and owner stakeholders.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with contract requirements, regulatory conditions, and project specifications.
  • Support project closeout activities including punch list tracking, documentation review and turnover.

 

 

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.

 

Anticipated base salary range: $122,000 - $152,000

Actual base salary within the anticipated range will be determined by several components including, but not limited to, the individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and market factors.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; Master’s degree or other advanced education is a plus.
  • 6–10 years of experience in construction management, owners representation, or related project management roles.
  • Experience supporting both design and construction phases of commercial, institutional, or large-scale urban infrastructure projects.
  • Working knowledge of design process, construction documentation, and coordination practices.
  • Ability to review and interpret drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost reports.
  • Familiarity with construction delivery methods and contract structures.
  • Demonstrated ability in procurement processes bid evaluations, and contractor–architect/engineer coordination.
  • Experience in cost estimating, budgeting, schedule tracking, and change management practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage documentation and multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports for presentation to senior stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management/document control tools (e.g. Prolog, PlanGrid,  Autodesk).
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements, permitting process, and quality control standards.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, LEED, and/or OSHA 30 a plus.
