What this job involvesĀ -Ā TheĀ Director,Ā OperationsĀ serves as a business partnerĀ and leaderĀ to the localĀ Leasing AdvisoryĀ business in JLL’sĀ ChicagoĀ corporate office. The position will partner closely with theĀ local Broker Lead, with specific oversight for Brokerage operations. We are seeking a candidate with proven ability fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment, developing high performing teams, and driving change and desired outcomes.Ā This position will drive the development and execution of annual business plans and will be the main contact for Finance, Human Resources, Research,Ā MarketingĀ and Information Services enabling programs that improve productivity and expand capacity at all levels in the market.Ā Ā The roleĀ providesĀ a unique opportunity with exposure to all aspects of the business in a fast-paced environment. Reports to theĀ Head of Operations, Central Region.Ā 

Responsibilities include:Ā 

Ā 

Overall:Ā 

  • ServesĀ as strategic partner to local broker lead(s)Ā  asĀ well asĀ keyĀ operating partner to all corporate functions and platform partnersĀ 

  • OverseesĀ localĀ operationsĀ managers,Ā salesĀ coordinators,Ā analystsĀ andĀ transactionĀ managersĀ 

  • Drives operational excellenceĀ through clear policies,Ā proceduresĀ and processĀ 

  • PlansĀ and executesĀ marketĀ strategy planning sessionsĀ toĀ establishĀ annual business prioritiesĀ 

  • Drives accountability andĀ execution of business line strategiesĀ

Budgeting & Planning:Ā Ā 

  • Provides input on budget with process improvement recommendationsĀ 

  • Approves expense reportsĀ andĀ monitors T&E policy adherenceĀ 

  • Proactively tracks key performance indicatorsĀ and ensures metrics are met or exceededĀ 

  • Partners with Finance onĀ quarterlyĀ financial/ operatingĀ reviewsĀ 

Ā 

People Management:Ā Ā 

  • Develops and motivates high-performing operations teamsĀ 

  • Manages day-to-day activitiesĀ forĀ local operations managersĀ and oversees the management of salesĀ coordinators,Ā analystsĀ andĀ transactionĀ managersĀ 

  • Leads talent management, including performance reviews, conflict resolution,Ā and developmentĀ 

  • ManagesĀ annual compensationĀ planningĀ for the marketĀ 

  • EvaluatesĀ support team structure strategicallyĀ and makes recommendationsĀ 

  • Partners with broker leads on recruitmentĀ 

  • Works with Regional Leads and Legal on broker separationsĀ 

  • Works withĀ HRĀ Ā and operations managersĀ for hiring and onboardingĀ

Business Line Management Support:Ā 

  • Coordinates business line/Ā producer team meetingsĀ 

  • AssistsĀ with in-bound business trackingĀ 

  • Provides data analysis for production tracking and pursuitsĀ 

  • Coordinates real estate licensing, training, and complianceĀ 

Ā 

Culture & Client Events:Ā Ā 

  • Executes culture and client eventsĀ in the local marketĀ 

  • Partners with committee leads and function groups for fluid coordinationĀ 

  • Collaborates with marketing to drive clear communication strategy within marketĀ 

  • Serves as liaison for local BRGsĀ

RequiredĀ Ā 

  • 10+Ā years prior management experience and prior business operations experience – inĀ commercial real estate industry a plusĀ 

  • Strong background and work experience in Finance, P&L / budget oversightĀ 

  • Demonstrated leadership ability with collaborative management styleĀ 

  • Critical thinker with high emotional intelligence and strong conflict management abilityĀ 

  • Strong business acumen to understand/provide context for decisions; able to influence and challenge decisions asĀ appropriate;Ā understandingĀ of P&LĀ 

  • Proven experience developing high performance teams;Ā high employee engagement and effective delegatorĀ 

  • Excellent project management ability;Ā solution oriented,Ā organizedĀ andĀ resourcefulĀ 

  • Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standardsĀ 

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced sales environmentĀ 

  • Travel required (approximately 10-25%)Ā

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related / equivalentĀ Ā

Estimated compensation for this position:

150,000.00 – 180,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
