• Administrative support role for currently enrolled students.
• This is an off campus Federal Work Study Position.

Job Location: Puerto Rican Arts Alliance, 3000 N. Elbridge, Chicago, IL 60618

RESPONSIBILITIES

Community:

Reporting to the Executive Director / Fiscal Manager, the Accounting Assistant I will work on items related to the business operation of the organization and will assist with the monthly agency reporting.

  • Reviews and enters cash receipts and accounts payable data.
  • Reviews accounts payable for accuracy and prepares checks for payments.
  • Assist with general ledger data input.
  • Performs bank and other account reconciliations.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and reports.
  • Prepares fiscal reports for funders and for auditing purposes.
  • Assist with the annual audit of the organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualified applicants will hold at least a High School Diploma and presently enrolled in an accounting or business management program. Attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, and strong communication skills required. Must have strong computer skills including MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Knowledge of Quick Books or any other accounting software will be a plus. Candidates must also have strong organizational skills for assisting in preparation and updating of important accounting files and other agency materials.

  • Must be an enrolled student.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a current student in good standing and possess a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of six credits per semester.
  • FWS fund eligible.

  • Self-directed, motivated individuals.
