Lead Teacher (All Ages)

Are you a passionate Early Childhood Educator who loves creating meaningful learning experiences for children? The Goddard School of Chicago – West Loop is seeking an exceptional Lead Teacher to join our collaborative team.

As a Lead Teacher, you will create a nurturing, engaging classroom environment where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn. What You'll Do

  • Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment that supports each child's growth and development.

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, play-based learning experiences using The Wonder of Learning curriculum.

  • Foster positive relationships with children, families, and fellow teachers through open communication and collaboration.

  • Observe and assess children's progress and maintain accurate classroom documentation.

  • Partner with your teaching team to maintain a well-organized, clean, and welcoming classroom.

  • Support school events, family engagement activities, and our positive school culture.

  • Model professionalism, teamwork, and a commitment to providing an exceptional educational experience.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred (or qualifications that meet Illinois state licensing requirements).

  • 2–3 years of experience in an early childhood education setting preferred.

  • Experience as a Lead Teacher

  • Successfully completed all state-required training.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with children, families, and colleagues.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.

  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced classroom setting.

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds in connection with the handling of children for program activities, child safety, and emergency situations. Infant and Young Toddler Teachers must be able to safely lift infants into and out of cribs.

  • Must meet all background check requirements.
