About the Role

Paul Logistics is seeking an experienced and driven Sales Manager – Logistics to lead and grow our Business Development team in Chicago. This leadership role is ideal for a high-performing sales professional with experience in freight brokerage, third-party logistics (3PL), transportation, supply chain, and B2B sales management who is passionate about developing talent and driving revenue growth.

As the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for recruiting, coaching, and developing a high-performing sales team while executing strategic initiatives that expand our customer base and strengthen Paul Logistics' market presence. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a proven track record of exceeding sales goals, building winning teams, and creating a culture of accountability and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentor, and develop Business Development Representatives and future sales leaders
  • Create coaching strategies that improve sales performance, productivity, and employee development
  • Develop and execute sales strategies that drive new business growth and customer acquisition
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities within freight brokerage, transportation, logistics, and supply chain markets
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing customers
  • Manage sales forecasting, pipeline development, and team performance metrics
  • Monitor individual and team KPIs while ensuring monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals are achieved
  • Collaborate with operations, carrier sales, and customer success teams to ensure exceptional service delivery
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements with customers
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities
  • Represent Paul Logistics at networking events, customer meetings, trade shows, and industry conferences
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction

Qualifications

  • 3–7 years of leadership experience in logistics sales, freight brokerage, transportation, supply chain, or business development
  • Proven success managing sales teams and consistently exceeding revenue goals
  • Experience recruiting, coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing sales professionals
  • Strong knowledge of freight brokerage, truckload, LTL, transportation, and logistics operations
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience using CRM platforms and Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, or a related field preferred
  • Existing relationships within the Chicago logistics market are a plus
