The Program:We created the Morningstar Summer Internship Program for college students entering their final year as a first step towards successful, long-term careers in any professional field. Participants will contribute to different aspects of Morningstarās business through ten-week- individual and group projects, learning about the financial services and securities industries, and gaining critical business development skills. Our interns receive hands-on mentoring from their colleagues and the People & Culture team to help them succeed at Morningstar.Ā
Job Responsibilities:Ā Ā
Gathering and analyzing financial data for credit ratingsĀ
Conducting market and industry researchĀ
Reviewing legal documents related to transactionsĀ
Assisting in the development of financial models and cash flow enginesĀ
Supporting the preparation of rating reports, press releases, and commentariesĀ
Participating in internal meetings and discussions with external stakeholdersĀ
Learning and applying DBRS Morningstarās rating methodologiesĀ

QualificationsĀ
Pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related fieldĀ
Strong analytical and communication skillsĀ
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasksĀ
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Excel VBA is a plusĀ
Familiarity with R or Python is a plusĀ
Interest in Structured Finance and credit marketsĀ
