- Review mortgage applications for completeness and accuracy.
- Collect and verify required documentation, including income, assets, employment, credit, and property information.
- Order and track appraisals, title reports, flood certifications, and other required documents.
- Prepare loan files for underwriting and submit complete packages.
- Communicate with borrowers to obtain missing documentation and provide status updates.
- Work closely with loan officers, underwriters, escrow/title companies, and closing agents.
- Review underwriting conditions and coordinate with borrowers to satisfy outstanding requirements.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, investor, and company lending guidelines.
- Maintain accurate loan records and update loan origination systems.
- Monitor loan timelines to meet closing deadlines.
- Resolve documentation discrepancies and identify potential issues before closing.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- 1–3 years of mortgage processing or mortgage industry experience preferred.
- Knowledge of conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loan programs.
- Familiarity with mortgage compliance regulations and documentation requirements.
- Experience using Loan Origination Systems (LOS) such as Encompass or similar software.
- Mortgage processing certification (preferred but not required)
- Experience with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, and USDA guidelines
- Knowledge of TRID, RESPA, TILA, and HMDA regulations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
