Description:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our team at Marsh as a Placement Specialist. This role will be based in New York City or Chicago. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

The Placement Specialist role is part of Marsh’s placement function and supports client teams by developing risk placement solutions that meet client needs. This role works closely with client executives, carriers, underwriters, and practice teams to help drive client retention, new business production, and exceptional service.

We will count on you to:

  • Use significant risk expertise and knowledge of industry and carriers to develop placement solutions that meet client needs.

  • Implement the placement strategy to achieve growth goals and provide exceptional client service.

  • Develop the go-to-market strategy and articulate the value of the placement function, including participation in pricing of services as applicable.

  • Facilitate submission of coverage specifications and obtain quotes from carriers based upon the “assist, advise, and assume” transaction model.

  • Bind coverage and ensure the accuracy of placement binders.

  • Create and maintain relationships with practices, insurance markets, clients, carriers, and/or underwriters to provide cohesive client service.

  • Advise on changing insurance and risk management market conditions and inform client executives, client advisors, and/or clients of major developments affecting various types of products/coverage.

  • Interface closely with client executives and client teams to support client retention and new business production.

  • Drive senior placement/technical support activities on assigned accounts, such as ensuring procedural compliance, reviewing data and updating annual renewal exhibits, maintaining accurate placement system entries, to ensure contract execution as required.

  • Advise management about client issues or trends through clear and concise communication and participate in development of solutions.

  • Significant experience in placement, broking, insurance, or a related risk management field.

  • Strong knowledge of insurance markets, carriers, coverage structures, and placement strategies.

  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and support client service delivery.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.

All Marsh colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $92,500 to $197,100.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
