Job DetailsJob Location: Program Management - Jardine - Chicago , IL 60611Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 2 Year DegreeSalary Range: $28.00 - $31.36 HourlyPOSITION GOAL: DWM PMO (a joint venture of AECOM and DB Sterlin) provides program management services to the Chicago Department of Water Management (DWM). As part of the DWM PMO program team, The PMO Engineering Technician maintains the accuracy of the Department of Water Management's infrastructure records by incorporating as-built information and field updates into GIS and MicroStation. The role ensures water system records remain current by updating service plats, atlas pages, and related documentation based on construction activities, field inspections, and information received from internal departments and external agencies.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: •    Update Water Service Plats and/or Water Atlas Pages using established DWM standards and DWM PMO Records Standards •    Coordinate with field inspectors, design engineers, and DWM staff to verify projects were constructed according to plan •    Update DWM records related to New Taps, water service terminations, Meter Installs, Meter removals, LSLR impacts, Forman Reports, CIP As-builds, Hydrants •    Updates requests from BES, Force Accounts and Water Main Groups, Plumbing Dept, Meter Department, Building Dept, District Formans and Field Inspectors. •    Notify the GIS team when GIS is down or slow •    Review incoming water main As builds and update AP and SP accordingly. •    Update service plats and atlas pages for meter installations, save and removal, new taps, and plumbing updates. •    Process updates requested from BES, Force Accounts, and Water Main Groups. •    Integrate field corrections supplied by Inspectors, Formen, and plumbers into the service plats and/or atlas pages •    Collect and maintain documentation of planned work from the construction management contractors, in-house crews, and Force Account review •    Update private mains in GIS managed by the Chicago Park District and Ohare. (if available) •    Update CDOT’s Irrigation system into the service plats (if available) •    Update/Record Dialysis in GIS and update the AP •    Check the Power BI tracker for new Dialysis and update any new dialysis in GIS and date when the update is complete in Power BI.    COMPETENCIES: •    Comfortable with multi-tasking and collaboration. •    Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines. •    Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, such as delays of tasks or unexpected events, and manage competing demands. •    Attention to detail and accuracy with strong organizational skills •    Ability to respond proactively in a high-paced environment •    Able to communicate clearly in writing and explain work to supervisors, co-workers, and other staff members.QualificationsPOSITION REQUIREMENTS: Education: Associate degree; College degree with CADD-based review/design coursework preferred. Licensure: N/A Job Classification: Non-Exempt (Hourly) Report to: Records Manager Experience: Typically 3+ years of related experience Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel. Working knowledge of MicroStation® V8i and GIS, and experience with utility infrastructure work is a plus. Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A Physical Demands: Must be able to sit, walk, stand, reach with hands and arms, stoop or kneel, climb, or balance, talk, or hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects tools or control. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds on occasion.  Working Environment: This job may require long periods of standing or walking in the field and include exposure to all types of outside weather conditions, varying noise levels, and hazards associated with construction. Wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment is required while performing work in the field. The employee may also be exposed to a general office environment, requiring long periods of sitting at a computer in ambient inside temperature, lighting and noise level. Due to the collaborative nature of this position, the work will need to be performed in the field or office, typically during normal business hours. Travel is required; must possess a valid license.  Continuing Education: Complete state-required competency.
