Job DetailsJob Location: Greater Chicago Food Depository - Chicago, IL 60632Education Level: NoneSalary Range: $21.30 - $21.30 HourlyJob Shift: DayGeneral Description: The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to: custodial/janitorial duties of shared spaces and storage areas, executing standard sanitation operating procedures within the GCFD prepared meals facility and ongoing monitoring of janitorial best practices. This role reports to the Production Manager and must understand and demonstrate positive food safety culture. Key Functions: Perform opening and closing custodial duties Maintain janitorial best practices of walkways, storage areas and shared spaces as it pertains to Good Manufacturing Practices and local regulatory requirements Maintain floor cleanliness; utilizing manual methods and operation of powered floor scrubbers Stock personal protective equipment and sanitation disposables Stock hospitality items in the Prepared Meals Facility shared spaces Perform scheduled daily, weekly and monthly sanitation duties Manage the handling and removal of kitchen and facility waste Properly handle and store cleaning and sanitizing chemicals Assist with sanitation verification paperwork such as Operational Sanitation Checklists Assist with ware-washing, if needed Assist Production Assistants with set-up and break-down of processing areas Demonstrate food safety and personnel safety culture throughout the facility Other duties as assigned QualificationsQualifications 2 years prior custodial and/or sanitation experience preferred Must be able to lift/push at least 50 lbs Must be able to read and understand chemical safety data sheets Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently Ability to prioritize and multi-task   Exposure:              Manufacturing environment with exposure to warehouse operations, freezers and cold processing rooms Public visibility/exposure in common areas and shared spaces Industrial processing equipment Operation of power equipment and pressurized water/air Cleaning chemicals and bladed equipment Standing and walking throughout hours of operation Strict adherence to personal protective equipment Benefits • Health, dental, and vision insurance coverage • Employer-paid life and disability insurance • Employee Assistance Program • 403(b) retirement plan with employer contribution • Generous paid time off • Parental leave • On-site gym • $3,000 annual employer-paid ThrivePass lifestyle and wellness benefit program • $250 employee referral bonus
