Summary

Join Aspen Surgical’s Commercial Sales Team as a Region Director in the Acute Sales segment of the business. With a comprehensive portfolio of industry-trusted surgical essentials and infection control products, Aspen Surgical helps support safety and efficiency in the operating room and beyond. In this leadership role, you will oversee a team of Account Executives and Account Managers, driving sales growth, execution of strategic initiatives, and customer satisfaction across your assigned region. The Region Director is responsible for delivering revenue and profitability objectives, developing talent, and ensuring alignment with Aspen’s national strategy.

In This Position, You Will Have the Opportunity To

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of Account Executives and Account Managers to achieve or exceed regional sales objectives.
  • Set strategic direction and provide guidance for account penetration, expansion, and retention strategies across the region.
  • Partner closely with enterprise sales, marketing, implementation, and other functions to execute GPO/IDN initiatives and drive pull-through at the regional and facility level.
  • Oversee execution of trials, product implementations, and contract rollouts in collaboration with the sales team and clinical support.
  • Monitor and coach field activity to ensure effective account planning, prospecting, pipeline management, and use of Salesforce.com for forecasting and funnel management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with hospital administration, surgeons, physicians, nurses, materials management, and other key decision makers across the region.
  • Support the sales team in high-stakes negotiations, contract discussions, and strategic opportunities.
  • Provide leadership presence at regional and national trade shows to represent Aspen Surgical and support team members in customer engagement.
  • Drive collaboration between Account Executives and Account Managers to ensure seamless customer experience and clear accountability across accounts.
  • Regularly review performance metrics, identify at-risk business, and implement corrective action plans as needed.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and retain top commercial sales talent, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and high performance.
  • Serve as a key voice of the customer, providing insights to marketing, product management, and senior leadership to inform Aspen’s commercial strategies.

What You Need to Succeed in This Position

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of successful medical device sales experience with demonstrated progression into leadership roles.
  • 3+ years of management experience, preferably leading a geographically dispersed field sales team.
  • Deep knowledge of the hospital and surgery center environment, including OR procedures, disposable products, and PPE.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to analyze data, forecast performance, and make sound strategic decisions.
  • Proven ability to lead teams through complex sales cycles, negotiations, and contract management.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; comfortable engaging with executive-level stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce.com.
  • Valid Driver’s License with no prior suspensions or revocations; must be maintained during employment.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% within assigned region.
