Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Data and Reporting Analyst to join our Enterprise Data team to drive analytics and data initiatives and adoption. In this role, you will assist business users in gathering and assessing data and developing reports and dashboards to drive strategic and operational decision making. You will work with users from multiple functional areas including finance, operations, supply chain, and commercial sales. You will also have the opportunity to work with multiple tools and reporting platforms.

 

Hybrid role based out of the Chicago office. Monday - Wednesday onsite required.

 

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis:

  • Reporting and Visualization: Assist users in the development and modification of reports, dashboards, and visualizations in operational and analytical reporting tools in use at Oil-Dri. Where necessary, create database relationships and semantic layers in the relevant tool sets.
  • Change Management and User Training: Develop and deliver training on operational and analytical reporting tools, and in data sets, to business users across multiple functions. Implement best practices for knowledge transfer and develop relevant documentation. Assist users with their questions on the tool and the data. Lead user groups and collaborate with super users.
  • Data Exploration: Assist users in the analysis of data to identify patterns, trends, and insights that support business initiatives and inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaboration with Business Units: Work with business units to understand data needs and align analyses with organizational goals.
  • Support Administration of the Reporting Tool Set: Assist and coordinate with the help desk on various user access and other administrative tasks in the relevant BI tool sets.
  • Participate in Project Lifecycle Activities: Support the project team in gathering requirements and conducting tests and validation of reports and BI dashboards.

 

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Finance, or other technical field.
  • Minimum of 4-7 years of experience in data, analytics, and reporting using tools like Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, and ReportsNow.
  • Experience in working with data of various business functions including operations and manufacturing, supply chain, and finance.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Advanced skill in the use of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, ReportsNow) and building advanced reports, including creation of semantic layers and creating table joins, is required.
  • A strong understanding of core business functions and processes, in operations/manufacturing, finance, commercial sales, and supply chain, is required.
  • An understanding of ERP data, particularly JD Edwards data, is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with data and statistical languages such as SQL, Python, and R is highly preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate with and mentor a variety of business user experts is required.
  • Adaptability to work on a variety of technical and non-technical tasks.
  • Excellent time management skills to balance engineering and analytical responsibilities.
