Job Title: Senior Actuary – Hybrid
Locations: Bedford, TX OR Richmond, VA OR Chicago, IL
Salary Range: $120k-$160k/year

Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Actuarial Leader to provide strategic actuarial guidance and serve as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders. This role will lead complex actuarial analyses supporting reserving, forecasting, financial planning, risk evaluation, and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead commercial lines reserving, forecasting, and actuarial analyses.

  • Evaluate new business, acquisitions, partnerships, and strategic initiatives.

  • Monitor emerging risks, industry trends, and market developments.

  • Partner with Underwriting, Legal, Reinsurance, Accounting, and executive leadership.

  • Develop and enhance actuarial models, methodologies, assumptions, and reporting.

  • Present complex actuarial insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

  • Drive process improvement, automation, and analytical innovation.

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives and mentor actuarial professionals.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of progressive actuarial experience with strong commercial lines reserving expertise.

  • ACAS required; FCAS preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of reserving, insurance analytics, financial reporting, and actuarial methodologies.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience with SQL, Python, Excel, or similar analytical tools.

  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate technical analysis into actionable business recommendations.

  • Demonstrated experience mentoring talent and leading complex projects.

  • Ability to travel up to 15% as needed.
