Scaling Community Violence Intervention (CVI) for a Safer Chicago (SC2) is an expanding network of donors, anti-violence practitioners, and community stakeholders dedicated to enhancing CVI in the neighborhoods of Chicago most affected by violence. New Life Centers is partnering with six local community-based organizations; Central States SER, Enlace, Hope Culture, Erie House, Universidad Popular, and Beyond the Ball as The Pathways to Peace. The Pathways to Peace Program aims to serve 75% of the highest-risk individuals in the area over five years through comprehensive street outreach, case management, education, employment, and behavioral health services.  

Position Summary 

The Program Coordinator position is full-time, 40 hours per week (exempt, benefits available). The Program Coordinator will assist the Director with daily administrative tasks, risk and issue logging, budget tracking, and logistical tasks. Flexible schedule required. Focus neighborhoods may include Little Village, Pilsen, and Brighton Park. May require some local travel (reimbursable). Pay commensurate with experience. This position is in-person. 

Core Responsibilities 

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Assist Director with daily administrative tasks
  • Assure communications (attendance, reports, intakes, etc.) are accurate and submitted on time
  • Coordinate meetings for team, partners, and strategic planning
  • Submit all required finance information by deadlines
  • Follow stipend guidelines, tracking requirements, and submit required paperwork
  • Assist with monitoring team documentation (case notes, logs, receipts, attendance, etc.)
  • Maintain accuracy of budget and ensure spending is within limits
  • Participate in required evaluations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Communication & Collaboration

  • Maintain communication with NLC leadership to ensure cohesive work environment
  • Collaborate with Program Supervisors and partners (sharing best practices, resources, planning)
  • Communicate relevant information promptly to team members and supervisors
  • Be responsive to Program Director, Data/IT Specialist, and Finance Manager
  • Work closely with referring partners and stakeholders to meet goals

Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with partners
  • Engage effectively with project partners and address challenges collaboratively
  • Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders
  • Build and sustain a “warm referral” network
  • Attend trainings, orientations, and partner/funder meetings

Program Support & Compliance

  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of team documentation
  • Adhere to program guidelines, policies, and reporting expectations
  • Maintain confidentiality of participant information
  • Demonstrate organizational values (New Life Centers’ values)

Teamwork & Organizational Participation

  • Work effectively as part of a team
  • Attend required meetings and trainings
  • Support a collaborative and accountable team environment

Required Qualifications & Certifications

  • Certified Mandated Reporter 
  • Clear background checks (criminal, child abuse/neglect, sex offender registry)
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance, and access to a vehicle
  • Must have a working phone

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year in human services (direct work with at-risk youth)
  • Experience in crisis intervention (preferred)
  • Familiarity with targeted communities (Little Village, Pilsen, Brighton Park)
