Job Description:
Ā
Baker Tillyās Industry Applications team develops data-driven technology solutions for clients. Our development philosophy is that we build the best products, most expediently, when the builders are intimately involved in the solutioning. Working with us, expect to ship often, to get outsized ownership over the products you build, and to be a leader in solving ourĀ clientsĀ problems. For this reason, we prioritize creativity, and a passion for delivering excellence.Ā Ā
We typically work with manufacturing clients, though we also get tapped for complicated insurance projects, forensics, and other data-heavy work.Ā Ā
Our solutions fundamentally start with the problemsĀ weāreĀ working to solve with our clients.Ā Accordingly, the tools weĀ leverageĀ vary from use-case to use-case. Our core stackĀ leveragesĀ Anvil, and we integrate other solutions and systems asĀ required. Examples include:Ā Ā
- State-machine driven applications for business process managementĀ
- āRules Engineā development for measuring and reporting compliance against legislation/regulationsĀ Ā
- Machine learning models for categorization (developed with AWS SageMaker)Ā Ā
- Text and key term extraction from PDFsĀ Ā Mixed integer linear programming for supply chain optimization modelingĀ Ā
- Monte Carlo techniques for probabilistic forecastingĀ Ā
WeāreĀ currentlyĀ recruiting forĀ ourĀ ApplicationsĀ Development team. You will:Ā Ā
- Develop full-stack applications in just Python using Anvil (https://anvil.works),Ā Ā BringĀ new solutionsĀ to the table, in particular leveraging the AWS ecosystem, andĀ Ā
- IdentifyĀ and develop service opportunities toĀ assistĀ Baker Tillyās manufacturing industryĀ and development and communityĀ adclients.Ā Ā
What we offer you:Ā Ā
- The chanceĀ to own the development process. We use Azure Dev Ops for our project and issue management, but this role is a lot more than ātake an issue, open a PRā.Ā We want people excited to own a problem and figure out a solution.Ā Ā
- A collaborative,Ā engaged team.Ā YouāllĀ work closely with analysts, Tableau Developers, and management consultants to help solve our clientsā problems. Our team is distributed, but we meet quarterly and make the most of it when we do.Ā Ā
- Diversity.Ā NoĀ two days are alike, depending on the projectsĀ youāreĀ working on (and the technologiesĀ required).Ā Ā
- The chanceĀ to immerse yourself in an up-and-coming framework ā Anvil allows full stack development using justĀ Python, andĀ is key to ourĀ rapid-developmentĀ approach.Ā Ā
- A chance to leave your mark. You will own projects and see them through with our clients. Meanwhile, we are constantly adding to our library of ābuilding blocksāĀ soĀ weĀ arenātĀ solving the same problem twice.Ā Ā
Successful candidates will meet the following requirements:Ā Ā
- You have a technical background and genuine interest in computer science and software development.Ā Maybe youĀ gotĀ aĀ Bachelorās in Computer Science, or aĀ Masterās in Data ScienceĀ and Analytics, or you have a portfolio of awesome projects.Ā Ā
- You have at least an intermediate knowledge of Python, or advanced understanding of another high-level language (e.g.Ā Java, C#)Ā Ā
- You are deep down a āmakerā ā you just like to build stuff.Ā Ā
- You have an eye for excellence. You might not be a UI/UX buff, but you know what annoys you, and you strive forĀ an excellentĀ user experience in everything you build.Ā Ā
- YouāreĀ a problem solver, and love learning new things to solveĀ new problems.Ā Ā
Bonus criteria:Ā
- YouāveĀ used the Anvil framework before (show us those hobbyĀ projects!)Ā
- You haveĀ 5 plusĀ years building solutions in industry.Ā Maybe theseĀ were in a low-code framework, or expansive Excel workbooks, or contributing to full-stack projects, butĀ youāveĀ been in the trenches in business application development.Ā Ā
- You have a background inĀ traditional web development,Ā such asĀ back-end Python frameworks like Django or Flask,Ā Net, or Node JS. You are comfortable withĀ version control using Git, database administration,Ā andĀ DevOps.Ā Ā
- You are familiar with (andĀ maybe certifiedĀ in) one of Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.Ā Ā
- YouāveĀ used the Anvil framework before.
The pay rate range for this job position is $179,850.00 to $340,970.00. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of relevant factors including but not limited to applicantās skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements and geographic location.
