Job Purpose

Maintain general cleanliness of facility. 

Duties and responsibilities

• Maintain hoppers and trashcans for scraps and any waste. 
• Transport carriers to necessary department (including unloading and location control, when needed)
• Maintenance of facility both inside and outside. 
  • Winter Months: use snow removal machine to clear snow and salt throughout facility (ex. parking area, walking area) 
  • Use the sweeper machine to clean production floor. 
• Band coils. 
• Load export containers. 
• Follow safety procedures.
• Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

• Able to read, write and speak English.
• Basic computer skills
• High school diploma or equivalent. 
• Previous experience operating forklift and overhead crane in an industrial setting. 

Working conditions

• Regularly lifting, traveling up and down stairs, standing, sitting, squatting and bending in various positions - traveling in and out of work areas, walking and being on your feet for a majority of the work day. 
• Daily exposed to noise, dust, fumes, and odors. Physical exertion is required. 
• May be required to work in a non-air-conditioned area or outside during the winter months to clear snow. 
• Vision protection, metatarsal steel-toed shoes, hard hat, ear plugs, and high visibility clothing is required. 

Physical requirements

• Lift minimum of 50 pounds.
• Drive, bend and climb.
• Able to see and hear. 
• Must be able to identify and distinguish colors.
