Vice President, Sales Enablement

Job Summary

The Vice President of Sales Enablement is an executive leader who sets the strategic vision and drives enterprise-wide execution of a best-in-class sales enablement function. This role serves as the primary architect of how the organization equips, develops, and aligns sales and operations teams to deliver the best patient outcomes—partnering with Marketing, Operations, Learning & Development, Product, Clinical teams and the C-Suite to deliver measurable business outcomes. This role owns both the strategy, execution and the budget for enablement, ensuring investments are prioritized, accountable, and tied directly to practice performance and revenue growth.

Core Competencies

  • Enterprise Thinking — Connects enablement to broader organizational strategy with a holistic, long-term perspective.

  • Executive Influence — Shapes senior and C-suite thinking through data, narrative, and credibility; earns a seat at the table as a strategic business partner.

  • Building Organizational Talent — Attracts, develops, and retains top talent; builds an environment where people perform at their highest potential.

  • Drive for Results — Creates cultures of accountability and performance; consistently drives above-target outcomes.

  • Customer Focus — Embeds the patient voice into the enablement strategy; dedicated to internal and external customer needs.

  • Compelling Communication — Conveys complex strategies with clarity and conviction across all organizational levels.

  • Innovation — Champions bold, evidence-based solutions; create structures that reward experimentation and accelerate learning.

  • Ethics and Values — Models core values consistently; demonstrates integrity and leadership disposition that elicits trust at all levels.

Essential Responsibilities

Strategic Vision & Executive Leadership

  • Own the long-term sales enablement vision and translate corporate strategy into a multi-year roadmap aligned to revenue, patient experience, and market priorities.

  • Manage the enablement budget and P&L, ensuring resources are allocated to the highest-impact initiatives and investments are clearly tied to business outcomes.

  • Represent sales enablement at the senior leadership and Board level; serve as a strategic executive partner across Marketing, Operations, Finance, Product and Learning & Development.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and develop a team including Directors of Sales Effectiveness and two Senior Managers of Sales Enablement, with clear accountability, growth paths, and succession planning.

  • Build a high-performing sales enablement organization with a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and field partnership.

Field Readiness & Sales Content

  • Ensure the field sales organization is fully equipped at all times—with the skills, knowledge, tools, and content needed to perform at a high level and deliver a consistent patient experience.

  • Oversee the development and governance of all sales content—playbooks, talk tracks, selling tools, and consultation frameworks—ensuring alignment with buyer needs, brand standards, and sales strategy.

  • Own the onboarding program strategy, driving faster ramp-up for new hires and ongoing development for the full field team.

Consumer Experience & Cross-Functional Integration

  • Champion a patient-centric approach across all enablement work, embedding the full consumer journey—from consultation through post-sale—into every program.

  • Lead enterprise change initiatives across Sales, Operations, IT, and Finance. Drive adoption of new tools and methodologies through rigorous change management.

Technology, Data & Performance

  • Define the enablement technology strategy (CRM, consult tools, enablement platforms) and build an enterprise KPI dashboard connecting training investment to revenue, field execution, and consumer satisfaction outcomes.

  • Champion a data-informed culture to continuously optimize enablement investments and demonstrate measurable ROI.

What Success Looks Like

  • Revenue & Field Impact — Sales teams consistently exceed targets; enablement investment is directly linked to improved conversion, case value, and field readiness and execution.

  • Consumer Experience — A differentiated, branded patient experience reflected in stronger Google ratings and NPS.

  • Faster Onboarding — Reduced new hire time-to-productivity through best-in-class onboarding programs.

  • Organizational Alignment — Sales, Marketing, Operations, and L&D operate from shared playbooks with minimal friction.

  • Enablement as a Strategic Asset — Executive leadership views enablement as a critical, ROI-proven growth driver with disciplined budget stewardship.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field; MBA strongly preferred.

  • 15+ years in sales enablement, sales leadership, training, or go-to-market strategy; minimum 5 years at a senior director or VP level.

  • Demonstrated success building and scaling enterprise enablement functions that drive sales performance, field readiness, and consumer experience.

  • Proven ability to lead multi-tiered teams, manage budgets, and influence at the C-suite level; exceptional communication and executive presence.

  • Deep expertise in adult learning principles, sales content development, sales training methodologies, and change management.

  • Strong command of performance analytics and KPIs; experience with CRM and enablement platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Highspot, Seismic).

  • Experience in multi-unit healthcare, retail, or consumer-facing organizations strongly preferred.
