About the role:


As an Armed Security Professional at Extrity Services, you will be crucial in ensuring the safety and security of our clients and their premises. Under the guidance of the Site Supervisor, Field Supervisor, and/or Regional Manager, you will implement security protocols, monitor activities, and respond to incidents with professionalism and attention to detail. Your role is essential in upholding Extrity Services' commitment to operational excellence and professionalism. This position is a part-time position to start with potential to go full-time.


What you'll be doing:

  • Perform patrols and security checks focusing on intrusion prevention.
  • Monitor entrances and exits, screen for prohibited items, and ensure overall security.
  • Respond to alarms and incidents with appropriate actions based on situation assessments.
  • Comply with Pennsylvania's armed security laws, maintaining high standards of operation.
  • Employ de-escalation techniques to manage conflicts, prioritizing non-confrontational resolutions, especially in nightlife settings.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services when necessary, providing support and information.
  • Adhere to the established dress code and maintain a professional appearance.
  • Demonstrate punctuality, arriving on time for assigned shifts.
  • Conduct yourself courteously and professionally with all clients, visitors, and colleagues.
  • Enforce access control procedures as needed and maintain records accurately.
  • Conduct regular patrols to detect and deter unauthorized activities.
  • Maintain and report on the functionality of security equipment.
  • Respond promptly to security incidents, following established protocols.
  • Document incidents accurately, preparing detailed reports.
  • Assist with investigations by providing timely information.
  • Provide truthful and timely data, including incident reports and shift reports.

What you'll bring:

  • Must possess a valid Illinois Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) in good standing.
  • Must possess a valid Illinois Firearm Owner's Identification (FOID) Card.
  • Must have successfully completed the Illinois state-required (40 hour) firearms training through an IDFPR-approved training provider.
  • Must have successfully qualified on the firearms range and maintain annual firearms qualification as required by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) to maintain Firearm Control Card (FCC) eligibility.
  • Experience in conducting patrols, surveillance, and managing security incidents.
  • Knowledge of security equipment and its proper usage.
  • Understanding of emergency protocols and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Familiarity with access control procedures and identification verification.
  • Knowledge of first aid, CPR, and emergency procedures (not required).
  • Excellent documentation and report-writing skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
  • Must be at least 21 years of age to perform armed security duties.
