Job DetailsJob Location: Chicago - Chicago, IL 60602Position Type: Part TimeEducation Level: High School DiplomaSalary Range: $32.00 - $32.00 HourlyTravel Percentage: On-sitePosition Summary: Student Outreach, Re-Engagement Specialist (SOAR) will focus on facilitating student enrollment, developing individualized success plans, monitoring attendance and academic persistence, and connecting out-of-school youth or disconnected students back to a stable educational pathway. Work Hours: 26 hrs. per week for 32 weeks Start time: Monday - Thursday 8:00am until 3:00pm Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Student Tracking & Outreach: Maintain databases tracking student participation, monitor attendance, grades, and behavior bi-weekly, and conduct active outreach for at-risk or un-enrolled youth. Success Planning: Partner with students, parents, and receiving schools to design individualized graduation or transition success plans. Program Facilitation: Deliver workshops, coordinate re-engagement strategies, and support school climate or student voice initiatives. Collaboration: Act as a liaison between Youth Guidance, other community partners, families, and school-based staff. QualificationsEducation/Experience/Training High school diploma or GED required; a Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, counseling, or a related field is frequently preferred. Professional or teaching background working with youth, school culture/climate improvement, or dropout-prevention/re-engagement programming. Familiarity with Chicago community networks is a strong plus.
