(Renaissance) is a leader in Chicago’s response to homelessness. Renaissance prevents and ends homelessness for vulnerable Chicagoans, providing a range of proven solutions including prevention, outreach, rapid re-housing, permanent supportive housing, behavioral health care, and clinical case management.  JOB SUMMARY The Weekend Triage Support Specialist provides overnight oversight and ensures the security and safety of the building and its participants. The Specialist conducts regular facility checks, maintains a calm and quiet environment, and offers supportive services to help participants sustain their housing. Participants in this program are individuals experiencing homelessness who have been engaged through the agency’s Homeless Outreach Program or referred by Chicago Continuum of Care partner agencies. Many participants may have co-occurring serious mental illnesses, substance use disorders, or other health-related challenges. The Weekend Triage Support Specialist works collaboratively with the team to ensure participants feel safe, supported, and respected while helping them become good tenants and prepare for permanent housing. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Oversee overnight operations of the Triage Bridge Housing program while fostering an accepting, welcoming, and supportive environment for participants experiencing a mental health crisis. Conduct regular safety and facility checks to ensure a secure and sanitary environment. Engage participants in activities that promote coping skills, stability, purpose, and hope. Support participants in setting short-term goals, developing crisis recovery plans, and building tools to prevent future crises and hospitalizations. Collaborate effectively with staff, participate in shift transitions, team meetings, and regular supervision with the Team Leader. Assist participants with accessing food and other basic needs when necessary. Coordinate with community partners to connect participants to additional services and resources. Communicate any safety or wellness concerns regarding participants to the Associate Director promptly. Accurately document all services provided in accordance with grant and agency requirements. Maintain confidentiality of participant information in all forms and release such information only with proper authorization or as required by law. Report all suspected or observed incidents of abuse or neglect in accordance with state law and RSSI policy. QualificationsQualifications and Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in human services, psychology, social work, or a related field preferred. At least one year of experience working in a social service, residential, or behavioral health setting preferred. Ability to engage and build rapport with individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, and substance use disorders. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to trauma-informed and person-centered care. Ability to remain calm and professional in crisis situations. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently during overnight hours. Basic computer proficiency and documentation skills. Must successfully complete required background checks and training certifications as outlined by RSSI.
