The VP, Head of Software Engineering,Ā will lead technology strategy and platform development for Cboe Clear US, a high-growth division at the forefront ofĀ derivativesĀ clearing innovation. Reporting to the CTO,Ā you'llĀ build and scale an engineering organization that delivers mission-critical clearing technology while shaping the future of our clearing infrastructure.Ā 

Cboe Clear USĀ operatesĀ a multi-region, cloud-based real-time clearing platform with an opportunity to update the platform to the most recent technologies. Cboe Clear US and Europe will work together to create a globally consistent, locally optimized platform - ensuring transparency, security, and efficiency in a rapidly evolving marketplace.Ā Ā Ā

  • Build and inspire a high-performing engineering team that drives innovation and operational excellence for Cboe Clear USĀ 

  • Shape talent strategy through mentorship, professional development, and succession planning that positions team members for long-term growthĀ 

  • Lead global collaboration across Cboe's clearing ecosystem, partnering closely with Cboe Clear Europe to drive a unified technology strategyĀ 

  • Influence enterprise strategy as an active member of Cboe's Senior Management group, partnering with Executive Leadership to define the company's strategic directionĀ

  • Work closely as part of Cboe Clear US management team to enable product business strategy as we look to expand into new asset classes and derivative products through innovative technical solutionsĀ such as blockchainĀ 

  • DetermineĀ bestĀ technological solutions across multiple initiativesĀ and competing prioritiesĀ toĀ balanceĀ timelinesĀ andĀ buildingĀ scalable platformsĀ 

  • Able to communicate technology vision to senior leadersĀ and provide business summaries on developmental enhancementsĀ 

  • Work collaboratively with Legal, Product Management, and Business leaders to ensure our platforms meet or exceed customerĀ and regulatoryĀ demandsĀ

  • Work with Cboe Clear Europe defineĀ and implementĀ the global clearingĀ technologyĀ strategyĀ 

  • DevelopĀ andĀ executeĀ the Cboe Clear USĀ productĀ roadmapĀ 

  • DriveĀ Agile,Ā continuous integration and frequent deploymentsĀ ofĀ the Cboe Clear US platformĀ 

  • Operational mindset to develop and continuously improveĀ theĀ resilient and performant platform for theĀ Cboe Clear USĀ businessĀ 

  • Lead development support for critical incident responseĀ 

  • Evaluate and adopt and/or develop emerging technologies to drive the growth of theĀ Cboe Clear USĀ business (Tokenization, AI/ML, etc.)Ā 

  • PartnerĀ withĀ InfrastructureĀ to define our resilient cloud strategyĀ 

  • WorkĀ proactivelyĀ with Information Security and other teams across Cboe to ensure the secure operation and development of our platformsĀ

QualificationsĀ

  • Bachelor’s degreeĀ or higherĀ in computer science, engineering, mathematics, orĀ a relatedĀ discipline.Ā 

  • 10 + years of provenĀ expertiseĀ and leadershipĀ inĀ global marketsĀ clearingĀ or operationsĀ technologyĀ 

  • Ability to growĀ and buildĀ high performanceĀ technology teamsĀ byĀ developingĀ leadersĀ and individualsĀ 

  • Experience andĀ detailed understandingĀ of clearingĀ conceptsĀ such as settlement, marginĀ and collateral management, riskĀ managementĀ 

  • Highly technical software engineering backgroundĀ 

  • ComfortableĀ reviewingĀ codeĀ (Python, Java,Ā SQL.)Ā and technical architectureĀ 

  • Track recordĀ ofĀ implementingĀ innovative technical solutionsĀ (Tokenization is preferred)Ā 

  • SignificantĀ expertiseĀ building highly resilient systemsĀ preferably in the cloudĀ 

  • ExperienceĀ managing teams usingĀ cloud first technology and frameworks such asĀ GitOpsĀ and DevOpsĀ 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyĀ 

  • Ability to work with other leadersĀ toĀ balance technologyĀ andĀ business prioritiesĀ 

  • Highly structured with experience managing with Agile and associated tools such as Jira and ConfluenceĀ

Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The national new hire base pay range for this job in the United States is $246,500-$304,500 per year. This range represents the minimum and maximum base pay target for new hires working in the position full time.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by actual work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
