βProvide daily oversight of a cutting-edge molecular workflow to provide high-quality
next-generation sequencing data with rapid turnaround times
βMonitor laboratory processes to ensure that acceptable levels of analytic performance
are maintained, to include review of quality control, instrument and equipment
maintenance, and other quality assurance activities
βAssure all remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the
laboratory's established performance specifications
βPerform quality review for samples within the sequencing workflow from extraction to
sequencing.
βMaintain CLIA/ CAP/ NYSDOH compliance
βSchedule training and competency assessments for personnel
βMentor team of clinical molecular technologists and extraction technologists
βMaintain safety within the laboratory and ensure all safety protocols are followed.
βUtilize automation and robotics to standardize the discovery pipeline from sample
acquisition to sequencing output
βSchedule training and onboarding for new hires
Qualifications
Must have:
βMD + 1 year clinical lab experience
βPhD (physical, chemical, or biological science) + 1 years clinical lab experience
βMS (physical, chemical, or biological science) + 2 years pertinent clinical lab
experience
βBS(physical, chemical, or biological science) + 4 years of pertinent clinical lab
experience
βExcellent communication skills
βAbility to delegate tasks to others
βThrives in a fast-paced environment
βAbility to work with others to plan and carry out scientific programs
βSelf-driven and works well in an interdisciplinary team with minimal direction
βStrong desire to build products that will save lives and change the course of cancer
βImpeccable attention to detail
Highly Desirable:
βExperience with next-generation sequencing
βExperience supervising others
βWork in a CLIA/CAP high-complexity laboratory
βExperience with robotics and automated liquid handling systems
βKnowledge of LIMS platforms and various computer systems
The expected salary range above is applicable if the role is performed from Illinois and may vary for other locations (California, Colorado, New York). Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience.
