Continually endorse the Quality & Food Safety Policies, assure conformance to all requirements of the Quality & Food Safety Management Systems, & take action to properly report failures of these systems to site management.

â˘ââResponsible for repairs to plant equipment, installation of new equipment, and building maintenance as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Key responsibilities
IV.ââMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
A.ââEssential Functions
1.ââAbility to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues without direct oversight.
2.ââWork safely with various hand tools, power tools, welders and cutting equipment to repair plant equipment.
3.ââPerform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems/equipment throughout the facility (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
4.ââClean and maintain equipment and work areas, not limited to greasing bearings, replacing mechanical seals, rebuilding alcohol probes, cleaning procedures on scrubbers, cleaning procedures on acetators.
5.ââDisplay strong RCA skills when troubleshooting and perform complex repairs on electrical equipment; work with low voltage (DC), in addition to 120, 220, and 480 voltage/power (AC) not limited to relay timers, counters, amp meters, based on electrician guidelines.
6.ââRemove/install simple 3PH systems safely, identifying worn fuses/motors, replacing as needed.
7.ââTroubleshoot, set, and implement changes to Generator/ATS devices.
8.ââTroubleshoot SCADA, HMI, PLC, & VFD networking devices incorporated with equipment and or throughout the facility.
9.ââPerform installs/replacements on PVC pipework.
10.ââRespond to complex and general maintenance requests, not limited to replacing light bulbs, batteries, leaking faucets, or simple carpentry tasks.
11.ââRepair, assembly and installation of various valves, food grade and non-food grade.
12.ââMust be able to perform moderate to complex repairs on rotating equipment, such as replacement of seals, impellers, casings, and bearings.
13.ââPerform moderate to complex repairs on refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, work with ammonia and Freon with proper licensing.
14.ââParts ordering â SAP lookup of process orders.
15.ââMay lead smaller project tasks, coordinating with lower-level technicians.
16.ââServes as âon callâ outside of standard scheduled hours, as determined by the on-call schedule. During on-call times, must be available via phone and to come on site as requests necessitate.
17.ââBased on skill, may install sanitary and non-sanitary welded and threaded low pressure piping.
B.ââMarginal Functions
1.ââOperate forklift and aerial lifts.
2.ââHelp as required in the parts storeroom.
3.ââContribute to plant-wide programs in safety, quality, engineering, or production.

Qualifications and skills
VI.ââJOB SPECIFICATIONS A. ââEDUCATIONââHigh School Diploma or Equivalent required. 2 Year Degree from credited program highly preferred. B.ââEXPERIENCEââ10+ yearsâ experience in a maintenance manufacturing environment required, or a degree/certification from a credited program with a minimum of 4 yearsâ experience in a maintenance manufacturing environment. Prior experience in a food manufacturing facility preferred. Certification in industrial maintenance or electrical a plus. D. SKILLSââMechanical Repair, General Welding, moderately complex Electrical Troubleshooting, moderately complex PLC troubleshooting, moderately complex Carpentry skills, moderately complex PVC knowledge, moderately complex HVAC knowledge, problem solving skills, ability to use hand tools, hand-held power tools, and basic computer skills. Must have the ability to work alone and in close cooperation with production personnel. Capable of working through complex problems alone or with others to provide logical solutions. VII.ââWORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS A Sr. Maintenance Technician will be subject to working in areas of high noise level and in areas of hazards from wet floors. Burn hazards may exist when working on steam powered equipment. High degree of mobility is necessary as job requires much climbing, crawling, bending, and twisting. The ability to lift long and heavy lengths of pipe above the head and work from ladders, manlifts, etc. sometimes at heights exceeding 20 feet above the floor is required. Vessel entry and working in confined spaces is required. The ability to work outside for periods of time in temperatures varying from below zero to above 100°F is also required. The ability to apply force to lift heavy equipment and operate wrenches, hammers, pry bars, etc. and apply sufficient force to tighten large nuts and bolts is also required. The ability to regularly lift 25 lbs. is required as well as the ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
