Summary:Â
The Senior Accountant oversees complex accounting activities, ensures accurate financial reporting, and supports strategic decision-making through analysis and insight. This role manages month-end close processes, maintains compliance with GAAP, and collaborates across departments to strengthen financial operations.Â
 Essential Functions:Â
- Lead month-end and year-end close including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain and improve internal controls to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Oversee general ledger activities and ensure proper classification of transactions.
- Support audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting, providing data-driven insights and recommendations.
- Review work of junior accountants, offering guidance, training, and quality control.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and resolve accounting issues.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Assistance to the CFO and Accounting Manager as needed.
- Regular attendance.
- Travel and work overtime as required.Â

Core Competencies/Qualifications:
- Commitment to the Company’s mission.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP systems (Appfolio experience a plus).
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Financial analysis and problem-solving.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Background in property management or construction a preferred.
- Experience improving or implementing accounting processes and systems.
