About the Role:
Tin Roof Bakery & Cafe in Chico, CA is looking for a passionate and motivated Cafe Lead to help guide our team and deliver an exceptional guest experience every day. Responsibilities:
- Lead and support café staff during daily shifts to ensure smooth, efficient operations
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, espresso beverages, and café menu items
- Provide outstanding customer service and foster a warm, welcoming atmosphere
- Open and/or close the café, including cash handling, drawer reconciliation, and securing the premises
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management
- Train and mentor team members on café standards, recipes, and customer service best practices
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards throughout the café and prep areas
- Assist in coordinating daily workflow and delegating tasks to team members
Requirements:
- 1+ years of experience as a barista in a café, coffee shop, or food service environment
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong barista skills and knowledge of espresso preparation and coffee drinks
- Excellent communication and team-building skills
- Reliable, punctual, and able to thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced setting
- Food Handler's Card or ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Positive, customer-first attitude with a passion for hospitality
