Service Technician - Home Medical Equipment (Full-Time, Temporary, Days)

**This is a temporary position**

POSITION SUMMARY:

The HME Service Technician supports the department by setting up equipment in patient’s homes and educating them on the proper use and maintenance of their equipment.  The HME Service Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, efficient and organized warehouse. This position further supports the department by maintaining, cleaning, testing, and repairing equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations. 

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:

Minimum:

Six months customer service experience

Desired:

Previous experience in testing and repairing medical equipment used in the home

LICENSE / CERTIFICATION:

Minimum:

Current California Driver’s License

Eligible to be insured under the Medical Center’s Liability Policy with DMV Report (and minimum

age 21)

Must pass the Exemptee License test within 6 months of hire or transfer (department tracks)

(Current employees have until March 1, 2023)

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

Must be able to work independently without direct supervision. Must possess strong organizational skills and be able to multi-task. Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact well with patients and their families.  Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment. Analytical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.  Available to take calls on a rotational 24-hour basis.  Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
