POSITION SUMMARY:

The Supply Chain Data Specialist will support multiple healthcare supply chain disciplines centered around master data management, contracting maintenance, and the utilization of the item data content management software, contract pricing management software, data interchange software, and other specialized software solutions.  The Specialist will primarily support internal staff with item master management, new item adds, analysis and reporting activities. The position will maintain a working knowledge of current information technology utilized in the hospital. This knowledge will allow the incumbent to incorporate data across systems for the use and support of program improvement and long-range strategic planning. The position will have the responsibility for the capture, development and maintenance of performance metrics and statistics. The incumbent will plan and coordinate data collection and analysis activities for selected services and projects. The position is responsible for providing management with the design and implementation of selected projects that impact business operations, as well as performing other analysis as required.

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree OR two years of information services experience
  • Basic Microsoft Excel skills

Desired:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in data specialist role
  • 2-3 years’ experience within the health care industry
  • Demonstrated knowledge of working with medium-sized data sets (>10k records)
  • Ability to interface with key stakeholders from multiple internal departments, as well as some supplier, distributors and group purchasing organizations.
  • Knowledge of e-commerce concepts and basic MS office applications (email, Excel, Word)
  • Experience with any GHX toolsets.

Must have interpersonal and telephone skills to establish and maintain a high degree of rapport and interact professionally with managers, co-workers, employees, and consultants.  Capable of following through on numerous details of multiple assignments simultaneously, using good judgment and critical thinking skills and positive problem-solving capabilities. Strong organization skills; ability to multi-task. Adaptability and flexibility to support multiple projects simultaneously. Good problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and good organization skills Excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills. Understand objectives and be able to work independently. Behavior should be reflective of Enloe Medical Center core values.  Must comply with HIPAA Regulations and company confidentiality policies and procedures.  Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
