In this role, you will support the commissioning and turnover of critical electrical and mechanical systems within a data center environment. You will work closely with the project team, MEP subcontractors, vendors, engineers, Commissioning Agent (CxA), and Owner’s commissioning team to drive system readiness, testing, issue resolution, and successful turnover.

Responsibilities:

  • Review MEP/FP drawings, specifications, submittals, equipment requirements, and technical documentation to support construction and commissioning execution.
  • Coordinate with MEP subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and the Owner’s commissioning team to ensure systems are properly installed and ready for commissioning.
  • Track electrical and mechanical commissioning readiness against the project schedule and construction milestones.
  • Verify completion of pre-functional requirements, startup activities, inspections, and testing prior to systems being released for commissioning.
  • Support functional performance testing and Integrated Systems Testing (IST) with the CxA, subcontractors, vendors, and project team.
  • Review and coordinate sequences of operation, controls/BMS integration, alarms, interlocks, and system interfaces with appropriate trades.
  • Identify, document, track, and drive resolution of technical deficiencies and commissioning issues.
  • Coordinate equipment energization, startup, testing, and turnover activities while maintaining alignment with construction and commissioning schedules.
  • Maintain commissioning logs, schedules, test documentation, issue tracking, and turnover records.
  • Monitor system and project readiness at key commissioning milestones and support successful turnover to the Owner.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.

 

Skills Required:

  • Experience supporting commissioning, startup, or construction of electrical and/or mechanical systems within data center, mission-critical, or large-scale construction environments.
  • Understanding of commissioning processes, including pre-functional verification, startup, functional performance testing, Integrated Systems Testing (IST), and turnover.
  • Knowledge of MEP/FP systems, equipment, controls/BMS, sequences of operation, alarms, interlocks, and system interfaces.
  • Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, specifications, submittals, test procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and commissioning teams.
  • Strong troubleshooting, issue management, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple commissioning activities and priorities.

 

Education / Licenses / Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Commissioning or related technical certification preferred.
  • Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable.
