Role Description
The Registered Professional Land Surveyor will perform field and office surveying tasks to support structural and civil engineering projects in Texas. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting boundary, topographic, and construction layout surveys; operating surveying equipment; collecting and verifying field data; and preparing survey drawings, maps, and reports. The role involves coordinating with engineers, contractors, and other project team members to ensure accurate site information, compliance with applicable standards, and proper documentation. Additionally, the role will require managerial duties of the surveying department. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Childress, TX, requiring regular field work and occasional travel to project locations.

Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency in land surveying, including boundary and construction surveying.
  • Experience with topographic surveys and building surveying for engineering design and construction support.
  • Hands-on skills using total station and related surveying instruments and data collection tools. Drone experience is a plus.
  • Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) license in Texas, or eligibility to obtain licensure within a defined timeframe.
  • Ability to interpret plans, legal descriptions, and survey records, and prepare clear survey drawings and documentation.
  • Competence with survey and CAD software; familiarity with GIS tools is beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and commitment to accuracy and safety in field operations.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to perform field work in varying outdoor conditions.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or a related field preferred.
