Job Description​

Performs medical laboratory testing in a CAP accredited, CLIA-certified laboratory.  This position is responsible for the accuracy, timely reporting and integrity of laboratory results.    

  • Shift: 530pm-6am Friday, Saturday and Sunday

  • Has working knowledge of and performs testing in accordance with laboratory's policy, procedures and regulatory standards.  

  • Successful performance in laboratory's external proficiency program.      

  • Organizes and prioritizes multiple technical tasks with maximum efficiency and minimal waste.  

  • Reports laboratory results in the Hospital LIS/EMR, as ordered by providers.    

  • Reviews and approves quality control results to affirm validity of patient results.    

  • Maintains instrumentation and confirms acceptable performance.    

  • Uses education and experience to identify and resolve technical, instrumental and physiological issues that interfere with accurate testing.  

  • Works collaboratively with Manager and Medical Laboratory Scientists and recognizes scenarios that require assistance.
