JOB DESCRIPTION/TYPICAL TASK BREAKDOWN:

  • Gate Driver Board (GDB) Design & Validation: Experience with GDB design, debugging, and validation for IGBT/SiC power modules.
  • Power Electronics Hardware Design: Expertise in power boards, protection circuits, PCB review, and inverter hardware development.
  • Testing & Root Cause Analysis: Hands-on experience with DPT, switching characterization, thermal testing, and inverter troubleshooting.
  • Lab & Validation Expertise: Skilled in using oscilloscopes, probes, thermal cameras, and power analyzers for hardware validation and failure analysis.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop, and validate Gate Driver Boards (GDB), Power Boards, and power electronics hardware for high-power inverter applications.
  • Execute hardware testing and validation activities, including Double Pulse Testing (DPT), switching characterization, thermal testing, and fault analysis.
  • Troubleshoot power electronics systems, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product performance, reliability, and manufacturability.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in power electronics hardware development .
  • Experience with inverters, converters, motor drives, UPS, BESS, or renewable energy systems.
  • Strong knowledge of IGBT/SiC power devices, gate drivers, power converter topologies, testing, and troubleshooting.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Gate Driver Board (GDB) design, validation, and debugging for IGBT & SiC power modules.
  • Power electronics hardware design, including power boards, sensing circuits, and protection circuits.
  • Experience with Double Pulse Testing (DPT), switching characterization, thermal testing, and fault analysis.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis of inverter and power electronic systems.
  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, differential/current probes, thermal cameras, and power analyzers.
  • Knowledge of IGBT and SiC devices, gate drivers, power converters, and thermal management.
  • Experience in PCB design review, schematic development, and hardware validation.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, LTspice, or similar simulation tools.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong Power Electronics Expertise: Experience in power electronics hardware design, Gate Driver Boards (GDB), power boards, and high-power inverter development.
  • Testing & Validation Skills: Knowledge of Double Pulse Testing (DPT), hardware validation, PCB review, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Technical & Collaboration Skills: Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, LTspice, reliability engineering, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
