Pay Range
Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role. Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education and experience as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.
Salary:Â $23.55 - $29.45 DOE

About the Role
The Aid and Assist Case Manager works directly with individuals in pretrial status facing criminal charges. The court has determined these individuals lack the mental fitness to aid & assist in their own legal defense. The court refers individuals to KBBH for community restoration consults, which could result in hospital-level of care placement with the Oregon State Hospital (OSH). Individuals can also be restored locally through KBBH wrap-around services. If sent to OSH, individuals are either “found able” or “unable” to proceed. The Aid & Assist Case Manager remains involved throughout the duration of these legal proceedings.Â
Aid & Assist Case Manager is responsible for the delivery of direct clinical services to clients at the Klamath County Jail, Klamath Community Corrections Center, and in the community. Direct clinical services may include, legal skills, case management, skills building attending OSH meetings, and other duties as assigned. Â This position functions as the liaison between Oregon State Hospital, the legal system, and KBBH.Â

Clinical Team Collaboration
- Serve as an active member of the treatment team through effective communication with clinicians, social service agencies, and monitoring bodies.
- Communicate relevant clinical and service-related information to support coordinated care.
Case Management Services
- Assisting individuals with applying for and/or maintaining insurance benefits.
- Coordinating and/or facilitating access to medical care.
- Assisting with applying for and/or maintaining Social Security benefits.
- Supporting individuals in finding and/or maintaining stable housing.
- Coordinating transportation for appointments and daily needs.
- Assisting with shopping for food, household, and personal items.
- Locating and arranging for a representative payee when an individual is unable to manage their own funds.
- Coordinating employment and/or educational opportunities.
- Arranging and maintaining foster care services when required.
- Arranging personal care attendant services to support individuals in the home and/or community.
Skills Training and Support Services
- Medication management, including observing medication box setup, assisting with pharmacy communications, and providing transportation to pharmacies.
- Training in personal and environmental hygiene.
- Instruction in nutrition, cooking, shopping, and budgeting.
- Supporting development of communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness, coping strategies, and symptom management.
- Assisting with community navigation, socialization, and employment or educational skills.
Recovery‑Oriented Practice
- Promote recovery principles, dignity, hope, and overall well-being.
- Foster community integration and encourage the use of natural supports.
- Provide education and support to families and other natural supports to promote wellness and recovery.
Client Advocacy and Crisis Response
- Advocate for clients with agencies, service providers, and other stakeholders to support goal attainment and protection of client rights.
- Use de-escalation, redirection, empathic listening, effective communication, and sound judgment when responding to individuals experiencing symptoms such as psychosis, mania, anger, or depression.
- Apply appropriate safety measures when responding to high-risk situations.
Transportation Support
- Provide or arrange transportation for clients to and from appointments, as needed.
Documentation and Administrative Responsibilities
- Complete all internal and external documentation accurately, professionally, and within required timelines.
- Ensure that all services provided are listed on the client’s current treatment plan prior to service delivery.
- Monitor treatment plan expiration dates and coordinate with the therapist of record to update or renew plans as needed.
- Complete required documentation within specified timelines.
- Maintain accurate and timely time and attendance records.
- Effectively manage time and scheduling in the context of competing priorities and unplanned tasks.
Maintain safe, ethical, and compliant practices
- Comply with HIPAA, Oregon Administrative Rules, and confidentiality laws
- Complete documentation within 48 hours or within month end timelines
- Engage in growth opportunities, meetings, and trainings

Education & Experience:Â Must meet Oregon State (OARS) and MHACBO.org requirements for QMHA certification, by having one of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral science field
- A combination of at least three years relevant work, education, training, or experience
Licenses & Certifications
- Valid Oregon driver’s license
- Insurable driving record
- Must meet MHACBO QMHA certification requirements and maintain certification for the duration of employment
