Groomer - Chino Valley Animal Hospital

Chino Valley Animal Hospital, part of the Suveto network of hospitals and located in Chino Valley, AZ is looking for experienced full-time Groomer to join our Team!

Our Groomers perform grooming services including but not limited to bathing, cutting, shaving, trimming, nail trimming, ear cleaning, anal gland expression, brushing, and finishing cats and dogs.  Closely interact with clients and patients and provide excellent customer service.  The groomer is also responsible for accommodating any special requests from the owner and informing owners of any health problems discovered during the grooming process.

The position is commission based, with the Groomer making their own schedule.  All supplies except clippers, blades and shears are provided.    

Essential Job Functions:

• Bathing and clipping dogs to conform to a variety of breed-specific standard styles
• Detangling and removing matted hair
• Drying the coat
• Checking for parasites and other skin conditions
• Trimming nails
• Cleaning the ears
• Expressing anal sacs
• Brushing teeth

Requirements:

• Applicants should be certified
• Prior grooming experience is required.

• Must have the ability to groom large, overly excited, or frightened dogs while preventing injury
• Must have familiarity with animal behavior to determine an animal's behavior and use techniques to keep them calm and safe
