The Chemical Engineering Intern will work for 12-14 weeks (May to August) to help implement process improvements. The Chemical Engineering Intern will collaborate across the organization on efforts involving design for manufacturability and cost savings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively in a team to implement manufacturing process improvements

  • Collaborate with program mentors and champions to identify best methods for automating processes

  • Utilize a structured engineering approach to deploy best practices for process control and to improve yields

  • Initiate and/or update documentation of processes into work instructions

  • Compares existing manufacturing practices with external benchmarks and industry best practices and proposes appropriate improvements.  Maintains knowledge on current industry standards

  • Leads capital project efforts to resolve production capacity and technology capability issues

  • Present multiple project updates to the local leadership team

  • Limited travel required for workshops and trade shows
     

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Requires ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

  • Project management and structured problem solving with the ability to make data-based and ethical decisions

  • Eagerness to learn quickly

  • Capability for designing and analyzing experiments utilizing statistical tools

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including strong verbal, writing and presentation skills

  • Ability to lead and participate effectively in cross-functional teams
     

Education and Experience:

  • Current college Junior or Senior earning Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering

  • Experience in applying engineering concepts to solve problems.

Compensation:


Compensation for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. As required by local law, TTM provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that my be hired in New York, California and Colorado. For California-based roles, compensation ranges are based upon specific physical locations.

Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC including but not limited to: a) being able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents; b) recognition of  Foreign Person visitors by badge differentiation; c) understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL); d) understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US; e) manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.
