Job Summary: 

The Production Planner- Coordinator position is accountable for distributing required workload to the ship floor to assure that stock products are always available and custom and OEM products are scheduled to be completed as required. This position is also accountable for the procurement of all vendor goods while striving to maintain the best price and purchasing quantities as possible. 

Essential Functions: 

  1. Create and distribute jobs based on engineering masters in the ERP
  2. Schedule jobs based on the optimization of shop resources and cost effectiveness
  3. Work directly with the sales team to communicate production time estimates ensure custom and OEM products are delivered on time
  4. Close and analyze all jobs in the ERP as they are completed
  5. Create and maintain cost metrics on every active part in the ERP to use in the evaluation of the production process and pricing tiers
  6. Work with the Controller to set and maintain proper inventory levels
  7. Solicit and maintain outside services and material quotes from vendors
  8. Create purchase orders based on demand
  9. Work with the Production Engineer and the Product Manager to allow for lot purchasing where appropriate
  10. Work with Department Managers to procure infrastructure items as needed for daily operations
  11. Work with the accounting department to ensure purchasing requirements do not exceed cash flow restrictions
  12. Negotiate terms and conditions directly with vendors
  13. Work with the Production Supervisor to maintain product flow from overseas vendors
  14. Reconcile invoices with Accounts Payable as required

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree or equivalent in business administration, or similar disciplines. 
  • 3 years of purchasing product management or production experience
