Job Description

As a Security Officer - Patrol Driver Route in Rockport, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to service requests, document observations, and communicate clearly with site contacts and your Allied Universal team. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver’s license that meets AU Driver Policy Requirements, as you may patrol across the property by vehicle.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal post orders, security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities at a utilities location.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, yards, substations and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards, suspicious behavior and/or maintenance issues.
• Control access by monitoring gates, doors and restricted areas; verify credentials and/or visitor authorization; and direct visitors and contractors to the appropriate check-in process.
• Respond to incidents, alarms and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; request assistance from site management and/or public responders when appropriate.
• Complete timely documentation such as patrol logs, incident reports and shift pass-downs; communicate observations and site conditions to the supervisor and/or client contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
