POSITION TITLE: Steward (Prep)/F&B Attendant I POSITION#: 250-3302
REPORTS TO: Food & Beverage Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the proper washing, racking, rinsing, and cleaning of dishes, glassware, cutlery and cookware. Serves employee meals in the EDR. Ensures eating/drinking utensils, salad bar and snacks are available.
TASKS:
1. Must sort all dishes, glassware, cutlery and cookware in proper racks after cleaning. Responsible for cleanliness of kitchen floor.
2. Position responds to the Café and EDR staff regarding equipment needs to keep the work station clean and organized.
3. Must be aware of the proper operation of all equipment and the proper use of the chemicals used to clean and sanitize eating and cooking utensils and the kitchen floor.
4. Serves meals to employees.
5. Preps for all outlets, snacks, salad bar, replenishes eating/drinking utensils.
6. Removes trash from outlets.
7. Must be able to run cash register as needed.
8. Other tasks as assigned by Food & Beverage Supervisor or Manager.
EDUCATION OR SKILLS REQUIRED:
Must possess a valid VI food handler’s card.
High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to discern difference between patterns of dishes and glassware.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: The following activities are normally required to perform these functions: Stand, walk, bend, push, pull, bend, reach, minimal reading, eye to hand coordination and depth perception. Must be able to stand for up to 4 hours and lift up to 40 pounds, tray of dishes, loaded trash can, etc. several times during the work day.
HAZARDS: Include but are not limited to: back strain, cuts from broken glass, change in temperatures.
