The Claims Specialist I is responsible for managing, collecting, tracking, and reporting child care payment and supportive services information through various systems, including KinderTrack and CalSAWS. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for reviewing and processing child care provider payments accurately and in compliance with program policies and timelines.
- Maintains positive relationships with participants, providers, county staff, and partner agencies while delivering professional customer service.
- Ensures accurate data entry, payment reconciliation, recordkeeping, reporting, and budget file maintenance to support program operations, compliance, and audits.
- Monitors workloads, meets productivity goals, participates in trainings and team activities, communicates regularly with supervisors, and collaborates with team members and community partners to ensure efficient service delivery and positive client outcomes.
- Accurately enter provider timesheets, invoices, payment data, and client information into applicable systems.
- Maintains confidentiality and adheres to all program guidelines, policies, and quality standards.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
- Prior accounting, bookkeeping, payment processing, or related financial experience is preferred.
- Experience working with social service programs, child care services, or public assistance programs is a plus.
Working Conditions
Must reside in San Diego County
This position requires full-time (Mon-Fri) in-office work, from 8am-5pm.

Compensation:
Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave.
Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $19.50 - $23.50. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role.
