The City of Cibolo is seeking a highly motivated Marketing and Administrative Coordinator to support the City’s economic development efforts through marketing, communications, administrative coordination, and organizational support. This position promotes Cibolo as a vibrant community for business investment and growth, supports Economic Development Corporation activities, and builds positive relationships with businesses, community partners, and stakeholders. Through a commitment to Professional Development, Accountability, Respect, Teamwork, and Integrity, this position helps tell Cibolo’s story while supporting responsible economic growth and the City’s long-term success.

  1. Develops and coordinates marketing and communication initiatives that promote Cibolo as a destination for business investment, development, and economic opportunity, including digital, print, social media, website, email, and other outreach platforms.
  2. Creates, edits, and coordinates engaging content that highlights Cibolo businesses, development activity, economic development programs, community assets, and other initiatives that support the City's economic development goals and tell Cibolo's story.
  3. Maintains the Economic Development Corporation's website, social media platforms, email communications, and other digital resources to ensure information is accurate, timely, engaging, and consistent with City and EDC branding.
  4. Assists with the development of marketing collateral, presentations, advertisements, promotional materials, business recruitment materials, and other resources used to market Cibolo to prospective businesses, developers, investors, and community partners.
  5. Supports business recruitment, retention, and expansion efforts by coordinating outreach, maintaining business and prospect information, assisting with research and data collection, preparing informational materials, and supporting follow-up with businesses and economic development partners.
  6. Supports the administration of economic development incentive programs, grants, and agreements, including the City's EDGE Grant Program and other business development initiatives. Coordinates application materials and documentation, tracks program requirements and milestones, maintains program records, assists with compliance and reporting, and communicates with businesses and internal partners throughout the process.
  7. Coordinates Economic Development Corporation Board activities, including preparation and distribution of agendas and supporting materials, meeting coordination, preparation of official minutes, maintenance of Board records, and completion of required follow-up activities.
  8. Coordinates and supports economic development events, business outreach activities, community partnerships, meetings, presentations, ribbon cuttings, industry events, and other initiatives that strengthen relationships with Cibolo's business community and regional partners.
  9. Maintains the Economic Development Corporation's customer relationship management (CRM) system and other economic development databases, ensuring business, prospect, project, and stakeholder information is accurate, organized, and available to support departmental activities and decision-making.
  10. Conducts research and compiles economic, demographic, development, business, and community information to support marketing initiatives, business recruitment, presentations, reports, strategic initiatives, and other economic development activities.
  11. Assists with departmental budget development and administration, including monitoring expenditures, coordinating purchasing and procurement activities, tracking contracts and expenditures, and maintaining appropriate financial documentation in accordance with City policies and procedures.
  12. Maintains Economic Development Corporation records and coordinates records management activities in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, records retention requirements, and City policies.
  13. Prepares and coordinates reports, correspondence, presentations, public information, Board materials, and other documents requiring accuracy, professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
  14. Serves as a professional point of contact for businesses, developers, community partners, residents, and other stakeholders, providing responsive customer service and effectively communicating information regarding economic development programs, initiatives, and resources.
  15. Handles confidential and sensitive business, financial, development, and organizational information with appropriate discretion and judgment.
  16. Participates in economic development professional development, training, industry organizations, conferences, and other learning opportunities to maintain knowledge of economic development practices, trends, programs, and resources.
  17. Collaborates with City departments, the Economic Development Corporation Board, businesses, community organizations, regional partners, and other stakeholders to advance economic development initiatives and organizational priorities.
  18. Supports special projects, strategic initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts of the Economic Development Corporation and City, demonstrating initiative, sound judgment, accountability, and a commitment to the City's core values.
  19. Performs other duties as assigned and may attend meetings, events, or activities outside of normal business hours as necessary to support Economic Development Corporation operations and initiatives.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the mission statement and values of the City of Cibolo Economic Development Department.
  • Knowledge of Economic Development principles and procedures and federal and state programs that relate to the field. 
  • Knowledge of marketing, communications, branding, social media, digital content, and community or business outreach principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of basic economic development principles, including business recruitment, retention and expansion, incentives, grants, and community development; or the ability to develop this knowledge through training and professional development.
  • Knowledge of professional business writing, editing, proofreading, and presentation practices, with the ability to develop clear, accurate, and engaging content for a variety of audiences and communication platforms.
  • Knowledge of records management, public-sector administrative practices, and applicable requirements related to maintaining official records and confidential or sensitive information.
  • Skill in developing creative marketing and communication materials using websites, social media platforms, email marketing tools, presentation software, graphic design applications, and other digital communication resources.
  • Skill in organizing and coordinating multiple projects, programs, meetings, events, deadlines, and competing priorities with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Skill in conducting research, gathering and analyzing information, maintaining databases and CRM systems, and translating information into useful reports, presentations, marketing materials, and other resources.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with businesses, developers, community partners, EDC Board members, City employees, regional organizations, and the public.
  • Skill in providing responsive, professional customer service and communicating effectively with individuals from diverse professional, business, and community backgrounds.
  • Ability to support the administration of economic development grants, incentives, agreements, and programs by maintaining documentation, tracking requirements and deadlines, coordinating communication, and supporting compliance and reporting activities.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism when handling confidential information, sensitive business matters, and high-level organizational relationships.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team and responding appropriately to direction, changing priorities, and organizational needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, including presenting information professionally and representing the City and Economic Development Corporation in meetings, events, and interactions with external stakeholders.
  • Ability to learn and apply new technologies, economic development practices, marketing trends, programs, policies, and procedures and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, Economic Development, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Two years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, communications, economic development, business development, project or program coordination, public administration, or a closely related field.
  • Experience developing written and digital content for websites, social media, email communications, presentations, marketing materials, or other public-facing communication platforms.
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects, programs, meetings, events, or initiatives involving internal and external stakeholders.
  • Must successfully complete an IEDC-accredited Basic Economic Development Course (BEDC) within twenty-four (24) months of employment, if not completed prior to hire.
  • Must maintain a valid Texas driver's license and the ability to travel locally and regionally as necessary to attend meetings, events, training, and other economic development activities.
  • Must be able to attend occasional meetings, events, and activities outside of normal business hour
  • Must maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate discretion when working with sensitive business, financial, development, personnel, and organizational information.

Compensation: Salary range is $46,794.41 - $70,192.06 plus outstanding benefits package which includes 100% fully paid employee health, vision, dental, and life insurance, generous TMRS retirement package with a 2:1 match at 7% employee contribution, 13 paid holidays plus 1 floating holiday that is awarded at the beginning of each fiscal year, vacation and sick leave, and so much more!
